BURY YOUR DEAD- BEAUTY AND THE BREAKDOWN

This amazing band from Massachuesetts has been thru many ups and downs.
From breaking up and getting back together again and about 14 member changes. I
was supposed to cover this band on their Family Values tour dates but health
problems had me stuck at home instead. To say I was pissed off to miss it would
be an understatement, it would of been my first time seeing the band live so
yeah it sucked...royally! I was dying to see when they played the song of the
same name how the crowd of kids managed to pile up on stafe while trying to get
the chance to scream "Bury your dead" with Mat Bruso
"Beauty and the Breakdown" is a slammin 11 track cd where each and every
song is named after a fairytale and the album art work is laid out like a
storybook- it's so cool! As I listened I couldn't help but keep turning it up
louder and louder. Jason Svecof, producer of Trivium and God Forbid had the boys
recording at Audiohammer Studios in Florida. This cd is way heavier than any of
the band's previos efforts but more simple yet it has evolved also. This record
just slipped out of them as they worked.
Back in 2005, Bury Your Dead toured with Ozzfest jamming each date out on
the second stage. They've also toured with Scars of Tomorrow, The Buried and Me
and was the main support for Devildriver. Mat and Slim state they are like
peanut butter and jelly complimenting  each other especially when the head over
to Slim's parents living room with a half stack and an electronic drum machine.
The main ingrediant for this band is fun, they like to have a goodtime while
making their tunes. If a band can survive so many hardships like they have, I
really think it makes them grow stronger. The music is tight as hell! "House of
Straw" flys out at you with no holes barred, it hits you full force from the
very first note played. Every song keeps you on your toes and guessing "Will it
be a catchy melody? Or will it be something to mosh to?" This cd is  bad ass to
it's core and will knock the wind from your lungs and force you to recognize the
mad skills of Bury Your Dead.
