FERONA VEI- DIARY OF A STONE ROMANTIC

I was kind of disappointed that there were only six tracks on this disc-
but oh well I got over it. I couldn't help but love this cd. It's so fresh
compared to what I have been listening to lately. There's no screaming or rantin
and raving about how fucked up ones life is. This guy has got a great voice so
sexy yet it has that special emo whine to it. I like the backup vocals it
seasons each and every song. "Take me away" is a gritty sounding son of a bitch,
did someone break this guys heart or did they rip it out and stomp on the thing
joyfully- loving every second of it. "Long and Hard" the opening track starts
out with a bang and keeps you bobbin your head wishing you were the one he was
thinking about and how you knew  you'd keep his ass warm- if needed ofcourse
"Lament" - semi hard beats to back up this guys love. I enjoyed the line "I
don't know if you are playing hard to get but your playin with yourself cause I
 already quit."
"Diary of a Stone Romantic" is six tracks of soft rock to tickle your fancy
like a feather to the skin leaving goosebumps raised to smooth over with your
bare hands. The tracks remind me of when I used to watch local bands playing out
at the bars and clubs, hamming it up. There were two really good bands out there
at the time- Steamroller Picnic, and Bonehead- these guys remind me of them in
different ways maybe it's those undeniable guitar riffs that made me dance in my
 seat as I listened.
"Chasin Doxies"- not that I have ever heard of a Doxie before but it sounds
like to me it might mean women or...O no maybe even a promiscuous one that like
to bed rockstars . But heh, I could be wrong. Folks, this is a cd that will
cling to you- I gurantee that it doesn't sit around collecting little heaps of
dust from no use. It's clear that these songs are light on the ears but also
mostly upbeat and aid in getting into a better mood...qiuck. I wonder if they'll
tour around here to promote their new album, if they do the mommies out there
better lock up their daughters for safe keeping- these boys from Cali are some
serious sweet talkin rockers. I really hope we'll be hearing much more from
 these guys in the future.
