I brought my friend Amy, who has never seen nor heard of Twisted Method, Motograter or Dope before. The whole way there (2 hour ride because of traffic) we were listening to Twisted Method. She loved the songs! By the second listen she was singing along and really enjoyed the CD. She was pumped to see them.
There were 7 bands on the bill last night! That's right, count them...7!! We arrived there about 7:30 and in the middle of the first bands set. We hung by the merch booth chatting with Adam, then said hello and I introduced her to Andy. If any of you have been to the Crocodile Rock, you know that the minor's are in the pit. Amy is only 20, so she couldn't hang by the bar area. She is also about 4'5". We tried to get into the pit area, but it was hopeless. So we chilled with Adam. There was one more band to go on before Twisted Method and while they were changing the stage, we decided to try and get into a position where she can see. It was hopeless. We did make it into the pit area center stage but had these 6' tall guys in front of us. No way was I allowing this. So the nice person I am, asked if we could go in front and they were nice and let us there. They felt bad for Amy because she was so short. We were about 5 rows from the stage.
The band from Tokyo came on, have no clue their names or what the hell they were saying/singing. They had the crowd going though. Pit was started right behind us, and thankfully the guys were making sure Amy and I were okay. By the end of their set we were about 3 rows from the stage.
During the set change I got 3 other guys to let us in front of them so there were only 2 people in front of us. Twisted Method hit the stage and it was nuts! The crowd was insane. Tripp came out with his hat on. I guess he and Ben are switching roles somewhat! Ben had the messy "spikey" look. By the time the first song was over, Amy had 1 person in front of her. Tripp was all over the place. He stood on the railing or something there to reach out to the audience and get closer to the fans, which kicks ass! In the middle of the set he took his hat off and had the hair down. He was on fire. They all were on fire! I coudn't see Derek really and only peeks of Andy at times. The crowd was absolutely incredible. Jumping costantly, singing along, screaming etc etc. Don't quote me on the songs, unfortunately, I was having such a good time just enjoying the show, that I can't remember their set list. I do know they did Fled; Hurt Me (My favorite); Manneqquin; I think they did Change Me, not completely sure though and that's all I can remember! Sorry! When they were getting ready to get off the stage, Tripp stage dived right into Amy and I. He actually clunked his head on hers and then after getting back on stage, he showered the audience with his water and through the bottle which hit her in the head. She's been "Trippified" and "Twistified" all in 1 night. Needless to say, she's ready to return for another show!
We walked over to the merch booth so we could get pics and I finally got my pic with Tripp and his hair down. YAY! Amy got pics too. She got to meet Ben, Andy & Tripp. Derek MIA'd again after the set. There's just something about Croc Rock and Derek being MIA! I was able to wave Hi to him and poof he was outta there! We got pix with Tripp & Andy, now she has to return to get with Derek & Ben!
