Billy Idol

I have been a Billy Idol fan since the early eighties. To be at this concert was a dream come true for me. I had no doubt this was going to be a great show, but I was blown away by how great it was! This man is probably better live than on a CD. Is that possible? Billy Idol proves it is. He didn’t miss a beat with his old tunes and proves he has great new music. The crowd was very diverse, all age groups were present and into the music. When he sang Rebel Yell there were fists in the air everywhere! This crowd loved Billy and it truly was an evening with Billy Idol for all his true fans. I would recommend this show to anyone that loves Billy!! I could have stayed there all night even though I had a 2-hour drive back home. Billy never disappoints his fans. Within minutes of exiting the House of Blues we walked by the buses hoping to get an autograph and a photo. Billy walked out of his bus within 10 minutes and happily took photos and signed autographs for all his fans. I will cherish my evening with Billy Idol forever!!

Review by Heather Slossen

I was raised on all the big rockers of the 80s, so of course I was in love with Billy Idol at a young age. I have my parents to thank for that. One of my childhood dreams was to see Billy Idol live, I never thought it would happen. That is until his new album, Devil’s Playground was announced.

We left for the House of Blues early in the day and had about an hour to spare before the show started. There wasn’t an opening act, it was just non-stop Billy for close to two hours. He played all of his old hits and quite a few songs from Devil’s Playground. It was an amazing show, I was completely blown away. He ended the night with “Mony, Mony.” The only other song I wish they would have played is “Cradle of Love”, that is one of my favorite songs of all time. All in all, this was one of the best shows I had ever been to. Billy looks just as good now as he did back in the 80s, I’m hoping he’ll make his way back to SC soon, I’m keeping my fingers crossed!!! If this tour comes to your area, I highly recommend going to see the show. You won’t be disappointed!
